Scientific Data Analyst
Location: Atlanta, GA
Emergint is seeking a Scientific Data Analyst to provide relational database management, data quality assurance, development and implementation of data analysis plan, and data analyses. This position will provide high-level data analysis and design support to the Project Officers on the user requirements and analysis design requirements to support CHSRB projects. This position will involve the following: 1. Bringing multiple databases in different formats together. 2. Creating and running programs for data cleaning and tracking edits made to database, 3. Working with data entry staff to resolve data inconsistencies 4. Writing and running programs for data analysis (frequencies, conditional logistic regression, multivariate analysis) 5. Designing and maintaining a data quality monitoring system 6. Supporting work between the project officer and statistician by preparing datasets for analysis In addition, the candidate will perform some Project Management duties which include assisting the Project Officer and other Investigators in developing analysis plans for projects, implementing analysis plans, and working with Project Officer and Statistician to perform complex data analyses, including conditional logistic regression and multivariate analysis, contacting multiple project sites concerning study data by written and telephone communication, and reviewing the accomplishments of the data entry and the programming staff to provide constructive feedback to Project Officers and Team Leads on better utilization of efforts. Data Management tasks include: 1. Understanding relational modeling design and development in order to be able to perform or direct data table merges and imports that bring multiple databases in different formats from various study site collection systems. 2. Writing and running programs for data cleaning utilizing SAS 3. Tracking edits made to the database once the different systems for sites are combined. 4. Creating and running programs for data analysis frequencies, conditional logistic regression, and multivariate analysis. 5. Developing standard reporting outputs utilizing SAS that can provide detailed and aggregate summaries of site submitted data (enrollment, data quality, variable frequencies, 2X2 tables, simple statistics) 6. Generating quality control reports that document the consistent representation of data collected relative to the study protocols for each site. 7. Supporting work between project officer and statistician by preparing datasets for analysis. 8. Working with data entry staff to resolve data inconsistencies.
Required Skills:- Senior level experience (3+ years) in relational model design and data analysis
- Senior level experience (3+ years) implementing import and export protocols
- Strong SAS programming and analytic skills
- Science, healthcare, public health background
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with a team and as an individual
- Excellent time and attendance history
- MS/MA required, [Major: MPH, Biostatistics, Biology or other science field]
