Computer Programmer II
Location: Atlanta, GA
Emergint is seeking a Computer Programmer to provide web support for CDC.GOV and Emergency Communication Systems activities. The support will consist of approximately 70% web production including maintenance, HTML & CSS development, graphics support for websites, 10% Archiving and tracking jobs, 20% for other technical support activities such as link checking or Section 508 testing for web activities. The contractor activities will consist of: 1) Converting documents to HTML using Dreamweaver 2) Creating PDF documents and conducting advanced editing on the documents 3) Designing page layouts and developing graphics 4) Proofs documents before forwarding for review and posting on the Internet. 5) Uploading documents to the web 6) Maintain and monitor various Web directories, documents, accounts, etc 7) Prepare graphic materials from written or electronic copy 8) Maintains automated solutions to help insure Link checking for quality assurance 9) Manage the ASP web space and SQL Server databases 10) Provide HTML forms, ASP and SQL Server development, JavaScript, and other Internet technology development services. 11) Provide technical guidance on search engines, meta-tags, JavaScript, XML and other more advanced web activities The contractor will also assist in the development and revision of the structure and content on the web sites. They will serve as a technical resource for Section 508 and accessibility issues. In addition, they will provide technical support for Spanish and other language subsites. This position will require the Computer Programmer to carry a Blackberry for emergency communications.
Required Skills:- Needs intermediate experience with ASP. Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) Fireworks, Dreamweaver, FrontPage, Quark Express, Adobe Photoshop, PageMaker, or other web-based development tools
- Experience with cross-platform and cross-browser development.
- Experience in advanced web graphical layout and design.
- Experience with Flash is helpful.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to work well in an emergency situation and under pressure
- Team player
- BS/BA required
- Years of experience in lieu of degree
