Systems Administrator

Location: Atlanta, GA

Emergint is seeking a Systems Administrator with strong technical skills and experience with supporting enterprise level web and application servers including development, quality assurance, and production environments, for the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. Candidates must have experience with supporting multiple environments hosting multiple applications primarily on MS Windows 2000/2003 Server, .NET Framework 1.1/2.0, and MS SQL 2000/2005 platform. He/she will be skilled at interfacing with various levels of personnel to administer and support the enterprise systems, deploy applications throughout the software development life cycle, provide guidance on application and infrastructure security, and resolve technical issues.

Required Skills:
  • The ideal candidate will be experienced with system and software configuration management, including but not limited to software/hardware installations, system migrations, system/software upgrades, and component registration. He/she will have experience working under structured development processes on small to medium-sized web-based projects. He/she should have experience deploying, supporting and troubleshooting mid-level business process support or health-related systems.
  • System Administration experience 3-5 years. Understanding of N-tier architecture; Experience managing, supporting, and troubleshooting Web technologies (MS VB & VBScript, ASP, ADO, COM/DCOM, MS IIS 5.0/6.0, MS Visual Studio, JavaScript, MS SQL 2000/2005) is required.
  • He/she will be skilled at interfacing with various levels of CDC and NG personnel to apply and support application security and development standards. He/she will have experience documenting, implementing, and enforcing standards and policies and procedures throughout the software development life cycle for enterprise systems and web application development and deployment.
  • Team player (global understanding of team concept and software development) and strong communication skills (verbal, written, listening, and presentation skills). Adaptive, flexible, and ability to work under tight schedules to meet deadlines if necessary.
Additional Desired Skills/Pluses:
  • Experience installing and supporting Crystal Enterprise 10, Crystal Reports Developer 10, SAS IntrNet, ArcIMS/GIS, InTempo, and FormFlow.
  • Software development skills (HTML, ASP, MS .Net, MS VB & VBScript, JavaScript and MS SQL).
  • System diagramming skills and knowledge of government requirements for application and infrastructure architecture preferred.
  • Knowledge of Section 508 Compliance desired.
Educational Requirements:
  • BS/BA required [Major: Computer Science, MIS]
  • 1+ years of experience in lieu of degree
