Technical Information Specialist

Location: Atlanta, GA

Emergint is seeking a Technical Information Specialist to provide technical and programmatic support to the Division of HIV/AIDS (DHAP)/PPB Program Announcement. TIS will be responsible for creating small database on HIV-related programmatic information and creating a variety of reports. These reports will include both financial and programmatic information. Responsibilities include: 1. Perform data entry activities. 2. Provide MS Excel and Access support for analysis, development, and implementation of data systems. 3. Provide support to Data Manager for the analysis and evaluation of requirements for Branch Systems. 4. Assist Data Manager by providing simple reporting and analyis of data. 5. Convert datasets to required formats. 6. Download data to spreadsheets or other MS office software packages. 7. Work with Data Manager on design, revisions to existing and planned data collection systems. 8. Perform quality assurance for data entry activities. 9. Perform basic troubleshooting on newly developed systems and merging of data. 10. Develop large e-mail group list of grantees by program announcement number, which totals over 200 grantees. 11. Receive e-mail request from grantees regarding programmatic related questions and triage questions to the appropriate project officer. 12. Develop excel spreadsheets with grantee contact information and related programmatic information. 13. Serve a point of contact with grantees on annual reports, and technical reviews. 14. Perform simple data reports to respond to data requests.

Required Skills:
  • Tracking of detailed extramural budget data from state health organizations or other grantees budget, programmatic and demographics data from directly and indirectly funded community-based organizations, special attributes of all branch grantees (i.e., geographic area, special populations, etc) intramural budgets, status and location of branch technical assistance requests, project lines and milestones, staff training and travel, branch purchase orders, and other branch projects. Review grant applications and extract information related to funding approval; enter data into grantes management system; perform follow-up to resolve any inconsistencies and/or errors.
  • Keep repositories of historical technical assistance requests and external resources, names and addresses of all branch contacts, project officers assignments, personal data, staff abilities and expertise, and branch resources.
  • Routing and tracking of controlled and suspense correspondence, internal branch documents, and branch tasks. Store and analyze data from branch surveys.

Additional Desired Skills/Pluses:
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating system, Excel, Word, and databases.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and clients.
Educational Requirements:
  • BS/BA required
  • Years of experience in lieu of degree
