Scientific Data Analyst

Location: Atlanta, GA

Emergint is seeking a Scientific Data Analyst to support the Behavioral and Clinical Surveillance Branch (BCSB) within the Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention (DHAP). The SDA is responsible for supporting each analytical project by performing the following functions: 1. Develop an overall plan for analyzing NHBS data using RDSAT, including quality assurance checks and ways to document analysis procedures. 2. Analyze NHBS data using RDSAT and calculate aggregate estimates for reports, manuscripts, and presentations. 3. Work collaboratively and epidemiologists to define the scope of the project and analysis requirements. 4. Create and populate table shells. 5. Produce written documentation of analysis procedures that were used. 6. Produce written documentation qualify assurance checks that were done and how problems were resolved.

Required Skills:
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience analyzing data for public health research studies.
  • Two years experience using SAS, including writing and running macros.
  • Experience managing and assisting with database creation and database management.

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self-directed, able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to learn new software programs.
Educational Requirements:
  • BS/BA required, MS/MA desired, [Major: Health/Behavioral Sciences; Public Health discipline ]
  • 4 yrs of experience in lieu of degree
