Health Research Analyst / Epidemiologist

Location: Atlanta, GA

Emergint is seeking an analyst to conduct applied public heath research analyses using existing data sources (National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys, National Health Interview Survey, Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, National Health and Retirement Survey, National Longitudinal Study on Aging, National Nursing Home Survey, and Area Resource File etc.) and conduct literature reviews. The contractor identified will work closely with the DDT vision team of epidemiologists, health services researchers, and other health scientists to assemble/analyze data in accordance with VHI research agenda. The selected individual must also be able to manage several disparate tasks and communicate clearly both orally and in writing. Specific tasks assigned will include: (1) Designing and conducting statistical analyses, interpreting and presenting findings related to prevalence and trends of vision impairment and eye diseases, risk factors, treatment patterns, and outcomes such as health-related quality of life, and injuries, and health-related behaviors and preventive care practices, and (2) Assessing, monitoring and reporting access to eye care and health disparity at national, state and local levels, and (3) Assisting in the creation of a research agenda for the Vision Health Initiative (VHI) which will fill gaps in the current knowledge and empower VHI to decrease the burden of vision impairment and eye diseases.
