Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) awards Emergint a contract to design and develop the Messaging Subscription Service (MSS)

(LOUISVILLE, KY) - The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Public Health Informatics (NCPHI) enlisted Emergint to upgrade and further develop the agency's National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS) Messaging Subscription Service (MSS). The Messaging Subscription Service (MSS), a component of the NEDSS's basic framework, is an independent system, providing electronic messaging and data interchange among system subscribers. The system allows for sharing of data streams to support numerous public health initiatives. MSS will seamlessly integrate legacy systems for Laboratory Information Management, Laboratory Reporting, NEDSS and other Case Management, Disease and Bioterrorism Surveillance, Data Warehousing, Master Patient Indexing, Vocabulary Access and Distribution, Electronic Medical Records, and various Registries including diseases, vital statistics and vaccinations.
