U.S. Army hospital and transition unit to benefit from Emergint's services

(LOUISVILLE, KY) - Emergint is pleased to announce they were recently awarded a contract to assist the United States Army Medical Department Activity (MEDDAC) in Ft. Knox, Kentucky to develop a secure web portal. This portal will be sponsored by the Ireland Army Community Hospital (IACH) and the Warrior Transition Unit (WTU) located in Fort Knox, Kentucky.

The IACH provides healthcare services to soldiers and their families from Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconsin. The WTU "provides command and control, primary care, and case management for service members receiving treatment for injuries suffered while deployed in the war on terror."(1) The WTU's main purpose is to establish conditions for healing so that soldiers can return to the force or transition to civilian life.

Emergint will provide software installation, configuration, and development services required to bring the portal online. Emergint will additionally produce and maintain documentation for standard operating procedures including portal backup and restoration, and provide training and support services for administrative and support processes. The enterprise web portal will also include complete documentation allowing DIACAP Development business solutions to integrate data. DIACAP is the Department of Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process.
